Authorities have carried out forced evacuation and over 1,200 families and 5,000 individuals have been evacuated, with 211 families coming from near Ipunan River. The flood made most of the streets in the area impassable including areas in C.M. Recto, Gumamela Extension, and JV Serina Street. Thousands of commuters were stranded. And even though the heavy rain lasted for just a few hours, Cagayan de Oro City weather officials have declared a state of calamity. But despite this rare incident, houses for sale in Cagayan de Oro still remain as valuable assets.

Flooding has always been a red flag for real estate hunters. In a country like the Philippines, which only has 2 seasons – the wet and dry – it is not surprising when flood occurs.
